One aspect of the toss application is that, if someone is firm in their stance and difficult to toss, make sure you drop at the waist and move your downward facing arm correctly according to the move.
If your arm is too high, you’ll have to move your body a long way in order to get the toss to the extend where you will be overextended.
Instead, sink and turn as the punch comes in. This gets the toss and/or break and with a little bit of speed sends your attacker flying.
The same is true if someone brings the opposite punch. If you are deep, then the toss/break is more powerful.
